For 30 days of lockdown I made an artwork a day, spurred by an ARTBOX.TALENT email calling for artists to make something together, a GIANT GREAT piece of art with artists from all over the world, in this time of corona virus crisis.

Little did I know it would be in this 30 days that my Mum would die – one work is left intentionally blank, I just could not pick up a pencil the day after.

In this 30 days most of the emotions I possess are written here. Sadness, hope, surprise, denial etc etc. Drawing them made me stay somewhat sane in this strange time. .

At the start I set myself 3 rules:

1. no sketching or laying out – just wing it 2. First just one coloured pencil drawing of self 3. Use one palette of many watercolours that I was never allowed to add to, adding to the pencil

All works are on A3 Arches hot press 300gsm paper

The ARTBOX team digitally combined all the individual parts submitted to create a great work of art. The final work of art measured approximately 6 x 2 meters. This final artwork will be printed in large format for SWISSARTEXPO 2020 in Zurich Main Station, in August.
