‘EVERYWAS’ & ‘EVERYWHERE’

While this it is a drawing it’s not a drawing ... ... it’s a sense, a feeling, a fear, an idea … heaved on to paper, about the way humans garden and shape the world where once we were a species amongst it, surrounded safely by its wonder. The work started from an idea I had while flying, I have taken it to the most absurd extreme.
While this major work is not directly about wetlands it does encapsulate the growing threat to our natural, life giving, world as well as celebrating the joy of ‘everything’ around us.

“In my privileged time on earth, I sense the change. Since the day I was born, the planet has added nearly 6 billion humans in that time [1954 – 2.7 billion to 2024 – 8.1 billion], and this is what I think I’ve seen. I say think, because I have not been immune to the Press, to the Science and to my ability to travel. These things all inform my dread of the imbalance looming, or already here.”
